TracStor

Will TracStor work on my phone?

If your phone has NFC and a camera, very likely yes. TracStor needs both: NFC to tap tags on your bins, the camera to scan labels and take photos. The rule is the same on Android today and on iPhone when that version arrives.

The short version

Available

Android

Android 10 or later, with NFC and a rear camera. Most phones sold since 2019. Google Play only offers TracStor to phones that have both.

Coming

iPhone

iPhone XS or later (iOS 18 or later). Every iPhone since the 7 has NFC; the 7, 8 and X can't run iOS 18.

Not supported

Tablets and computers

iPads, iPods, Apple Watch, Macs, Chromebooks and almost all Android tablets have no NFC for apps. Labels and lists still need a phone.

Check in ten seconds. Android: open Settings and search “NFC”. If there's an NFC switch, you're set. iPhone: Settings › General › About › Model name; iPhone XS, XR or any later model.

Optional extras need more: a Bluetooth label printer needs Bluetooth (every phone on these lists has it), dictation needs a microphone, and the map uses location.

iPhone

The iPhone version is planned with exactly the same needs: NFC that can read and write tags, and a camera. Tapping a tag with TracStor closed works on the iPhone XS / XR and later.

Android 10 or later with NFC and a rear camera. Phones above about $300 nearly always have NFC; it's missing on some budget and regional models, listed below. Your phone's Settings is the final word.
