Basement›Back wall›Stack A
Know which box to pull before you lift a lid.
Most inventory apps tell you the room. TracStor tells you the box: which stack, which row, how many from the left. Then it shows you, with a pin on the exact tote.
In the app today. TracStor 4.11.

Stacks: the box, not just the room
Garages, basements and storage units are walls of identical totes. TracStor keeps track of each tote's spot in its stack, so finding one is a walk, not a dig.
Place it with a tap
Open a place's stack and tap where the tote sits. Row 1 is the floor, counting up; boxes count from the left, the way you'd point at them.
Directions in plain words
Search for the drill bits and TracStor answers with “Bottom row, 5th box from the left”, plus a small picture of the stack with that tote pinned.
Inside another box? Still found
A parts box packed in a bigger tote points to the outer tote's spot in the stack: “Fasteners is inside Tools · stacked at Basement”.
Swap and rearrange
Restacked on the weekend? Swap two totes or move one to a new spot. Each move goes into the bin's history, so “where was it last month?” has an answer.
Moves clean up after themselves
Take a tote to another place and its old spot frees up by itself. The stack you see always matches the stack in front of you.
Everywhere you look
Stack positions show in search results (“Basement › Stack A, slot 9”), on each item and bin, and on the bin's “Where it is” card.
Stacks & floor plans›Areas
Draw the room. Tap an area. Tap its bins.
Sorting a garage full of bins into “Workbench”, “Back wall” and “Camping corner” takes a minute, not an afternoon of dropdowns.
- Draw the room to scale in feet, then block out areas inside it: the workbench, the back shelves, the corner by the door.
- Tap an area, then tap every bin that belongs there. Tap a bin again to take it out. Each area has its own color, and its bins wear it.
- Done. Areas are real places: search, filters and labels use them, and every bin shows its spot on the plan.
Each bin's Where it is card puts it together: the floor plan with its area pinned, then its stack, then the GPS spot where it was entered, for storage units and second homes.
