What you need, and what it costs
TracStor works with nothing but your phone. A pocket label printer makes labeling fast, NFC stickers let you open a bin with a tap, and barcode scanners are for counting stock in a business. Prices below were checked in October 2026 and change often.
Home starter kits
$0
Print a PDF sheet of labels on any printer, or write each bin's six-character code on masking tape. Your phone's camera scans the QR labels.
About $35
Clabel CT221B label printer (comes with a roll) plus one extra roll of 230 labels. Enough for a garage, closets and a storage unit.
About $46
The recommended kit plus 20 NFC stickers, so tapping your phone on a tote opens it in TracStor, even with the app closed.
Home hardware
Everything here is optional except the phone.
| Item | What it's for | Typical price | Works with TracStor |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your phone | The app, camera scanning of QR labels and barcodes, NFC | $0 | Yes |
| Clabel CT221B Bluetooth thermal label printer | Prints 50 × 30 mm bin labels straight from TracStor, no ink | $22–261 | Tested |
| 50 × 30 mm thermal labels, 230 per roll | Label refills for the printer | $12 a roll, or 3 for $132 | Yes |
| NFC stickers (NTAG215, 25 mm) | Tap your phone to a bin to open it | about $0.54 each3 | Yes |
| Any printer you already own | A PDF sheet of 30 labels per page | $0 | Yes |
| Other TSPL Bluetooth label printers | Same as the Clabel | varies | Expected to work; print a test label first |
That works out to about 2–5¢ a label. Some popular label makers, such as NIIMBOT models, use their own print format instead of TSPL, so TracStor can't print to them directly. Save the label as an image and print it from the maker's app instead.
Barcode scanners
You don't need one at home: your phone's camera reads TracStor's QR labels and any barcode already on a box. Bluetooth scanners are for counting lots of products quickly, as in a store stockroom with TracStor Count.
